Under the title “Frankfurt Avocado partners found their own law firm”, the editorial staff of JUVE reported on the launch of our law firm on 28.12.2021. Among other things, it was reported as follows about the founding partners:
“With Weisser, who had moved from Luther in 2006, a corporate partner is leaving Avocado, who helped establish the Frankfurt office. On the other hand, Geissler, who was only appointed equity partner in January 2021, represents the younger generation of partners in the office. Geissler specializes in complex disputes before state courts and arbitration tribunals. Alongside corporate partner Heilbock, who joined Avocado from Schalast in 2017, he represented Adam Opel on the closure of its Bochum production site, for example.
Heilbock started his career at Jones Day and was later a partner at Taylor Wessing for many years. He had already left Avocado in February 2021. One month after Hopf, who was Counsel at Avocado until last. Hopf is expected to bring his nearly ten years of experience as head of the real estate practice at Norton Rose Fulbright to the new unit. Hopf began his career at US law firm Faegre & Benson, which has since merged with Baker & Daniels to form Faegre Baker Daniels.
Together, the four partners want to continue and further develop their business in the areas of real estate, corporate and litigation. To this end, they see the separation from Avocado as an advantage, among other things because the partners can now decide more freely on cooperations with domestic and foreign law firms. There are also plans to rapidly build up the firm’s mid-level practice, which is to comprise up to ten professionals in total at some point in the future.
Their leaving is a loss for Avocado’s Frankfurt office, especially because Geissler, a lawyer who was only recently promoted to equity partnership, is leaving the firm.”
